Walk Two Moons: Thank You, Sharon Creech

Walk Two Moonsby Sharon Creech changed my life.  I was well out of college when I read this, huddled on the tiny couch in the tiny Manhattan apartment I shared with a roommate.  The sun was up and I'd stayed up all night reading.  When I closed the book, I cried with everything my heart was carrying from childhood.  This book helped heal me.

And I realized then:

This is what I want to do for a living.

Guess That Asian!

It's time for the 2011 Guess That Asian! ::crowd goes wild::

Head on over to the official contest page at Jo Whittemore's blog and you could win books by amazing Asian writers.

In other news, I'm insane participating in the Third Writer's Platform Building Campaign.  Between this, real NaNoWriMo and the upcoming crunch time at work, I should probably quit my Cityville addiction.

Pitch Contest with Victoria Marini

Chanelle at Beyond Words is hosting a pitch contest judged by her agent Victoria Marini.  Another great thing about Chanelle's blog is that she lists giveaways in her sidebar for easy entering.  Good luck!

YAtopia Pitch Contest

YAtopia is having a 3-line pitch contest with Vickie Motter!  This is perfect for those who are squeamish about posting work willy-nilly over the webz.

Yeah, with a z.

Sorry, I've been working with teenagers all day, then I went to Hot Topic to hunt for Harry Potter-wear for the premiere tomorrow night.

And I almost bought a leather-waisted jumpsuit at Bebe.

I need to just sit down quietly with a book .
