Q. Do you judge a book by it's cover?
Now that you mention it...
A cluttered or yucky cover might even taint how well I perceive the book to be written. Only slightly, though.
I prefer simple, bold designs like Delirium
or Choker. I remember a book better if I can visualize it.
Hi im a new follower hopping through.

I absolutely judge a book by it's cover. Love the above covers.
ReplyDeleteI like book covers with flowers and old lockets ;-) Kidding. I like simple covers too.
ReplyDeleteI always browse by covers when I don't have a list. But it isn't the only thing I look at before I buy! I'm already a follower. My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews
ReplyDeleteI like the cover for Choker. I like simple designs too as long as they're done well.
ReplyDeleteI love those book cover designs. I try not to totally judge a book by its cover, but I hate it when books I really love have truly unfortunate covers. :P
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Choker, every time I browse through the YA section at Borders with the sister, we notice that book and we always remark on how PRETTY it is. The sis always says, "Hey, it's that pretty book again."
I love book covers, love them! I am definitely one to judge a book by its cover---I admit it.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower and I added you to my blogroll! :)
I remember a book better too if I can visualize it. I'm not a fan of a busy cluttered cover either!

I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.
ReplyDeleteI expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog - http://www.howardsherman.net

Thx for hopping by! I love the cover of Delirium too. I tend to go for more of a realistic look - photo - than art driven. Have a great wknd!
