"Since today is April Fool's Day in the USA, what is the best prank you have ever played on someone OR that someone has played on you?"
When I first moved back to NYC after a run through Hollywood, I got a new friend to spread a rumor that I had gotten implants. I figured New Yorkers would just think, "Of course she did, she lived in L.A."
NYers are wily and skeptical folk, so it took some convincing and I think it was still dubious at best. (Stuffing was involved for a night.)
(I never played pranks ON people; that's just mean.)
Too funny, Sophia!!! :D
ReplyDeleteLast year a friend posted an ad on Craigslist NYC saying I had a washer and dryer for sale. He put my phone number in the ad, and it was AWFUL. One guy tried to sext me after giving me his full name, so I found him on FB and threatened to tell his fiance. Anyway, I signed my friend up for every dating site I could find, including adult friend finder. It took a week to get the emails to stop :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, my kids like to put salt in my coffee! And I just put a new menu on my side bar - Plot Busters - with the movie and book I have analyzed so far. There will be more coming. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one! LOL. I'm not good with pranks, although I always seem to be the butt of them. I'm so gullible, it's scary!
ReplyDeleteGlad to have found you via the Hop!
I love pulling pranks. I'm mean. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was how this one time I snuck into my friend's place (we were in college and it was a dorm, so getting in was easy) and filled all of her glasses with water and a goldfish. Then I lined the cupboards and inside the fridge with the cups. When she got home and opened the cupboard there they were, swimming around.
Thankfully, she thought it was funny.
I'm not much of a prankster. Too much effort, haha. The only thing I've ever really done for April Fools was in high school, we'd do an April Fools edition of the newspaper. Most of the stories were real, but we'd throw in a few fake ones or we'd have some feature articles on hoaxes/weird things. The best part was changing our titles in the staff box. The staff writers became "minions."
ReplyDeleteAt first I wasn't going to participate in this week's Book Blogger Hop. I'm not even sure why.
ReplyDeleteBut here I am. And I'm glad! To dispel any false impressions people may have had about me being a old, stodgy fuddy-duddy I'm happy to share some of my very best pranks with you.
Highlights include - low-grade explosives, eggs and salt shakers. Get all the side-splitting details over on my blog - http://www.howardsherman.net
They date back to my younger years as a Brooklyn boy which brings about some introspection.
I'm going to go pull some pranks today. Look out world! I'm coming out of prankster retirement!

April Boobs Day? How could I not click on over and see what that was about?
ReplyDeleteNot my most wicked prank, but one I remember = making these giant sunny-side up fried "eggs" out of peach halves and whipped cream. I told my kids they were ostrich eggs. They loved that.
Hahah "April Boobs Day" = Best title ever. :D
