Top 10 Book Covers (I Read) in 2011:
I realized too late that this might be an impossible blogfest because I've read a total of 18 books published in 2011 - and 4 of those are MG, adult fantasy, graphic novel, and
Go the F**k to Sleep, which I don't think counts as YA. Or picture book for that matter. But it is the funniest 2011 book I've read.
Today's topic:
Head of the Class
Favorite Dystopian: Crossed by Ally Condie
Favorite Science Fiction: Outside In by my idol Maria V. Snyder
Favorite Fantasy: The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
Favorite Paranormal Romance: The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong
Favorite Action/Adventure
AND
Favorite Genre-bender: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
- my review
It was hard to pick, wasn't it?! I'm so glad you're participating and I'm dying to read TGOFAT! I had to take it back to the library before I could read. :(
ReplyDeleteGreat covers too! Matched and Crossed are on my TBR.
I loved Matched. It would have made my list if pubbed in 2011. I adore the cover, and though people compare it unfavorably to The Giver... I think that's a little unfair. I loved it, loved Condie's writing style, and thought it was a fab book. I haven't read Crossed yet... my budget is smaller than my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I keep seeing all these great books I totally meant to read and didn't get around to as I hop around...I can't believe I never got around to Miss Peregrine's. Bah.
ReplyDeleteThe cover for bump looks pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Jessica--I meant to read most of these books but time hates me and there's never enough. Awesome choices.
ReplyDeleteI have to read Miss Peregrine's still and Crossed!
ReplyDeleteFabulous choices! I enjoyed CROSSED and MISS PEREGRINE as well. And I love your choices for book covers as well. I've not read LEMON CAKE, but every time I see that cover I feel hungry!
ReplyDeleteI love the books you chose for the book covers. Very eye catching. Outside In really caught my attention. Have to add that to my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteI have Crossed on my list too! Just love it!

I have heard great things about "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children." But I keep thinking - nah, this isn't a book I'd ever want to read. After reading your review, I think I may have to give it a try. Great picks!
