For 2012, I'm cutting down on my expenses and finally getting through the books I already amassed through
- Borders closing sales
- Christmas gifts and giveaways
- my trip back East to my beloved Harvard Bookstore's bargain basement. (We almost had to buy another suitcase.)
I'll be reading at the Grungy level: 20+books.
Books include:
Ash by Malinda Lo
Touch of Power (Healer) by Maria V. Snyder
East by Edith Pattou
and more!
What a great idea! I have pages and pages of books to read in my kindle and a stack of hardcovers that takes up half my office. I really should get on that :)
ReplyDeleteI have quite a few novels on the shelf that need to be read. Ohhhh! Decisions, decistions, decisions. lol!!!
ReplyDeleteI should do this challenge. I have way too many unread books on my bookshelf!
ReplyDeleteYou were at Harvard Bookstore and didn't visit me???? *sniff*
ReplyDeleteI love their used and remainder section.
My to-read book pile is out of control.
This sounds like an awesome blogfest for me, but I think I'm doomed to fail.
ReplyDeleteMy TBR pile is about the size of all the books I read last year.
Another reason to read? Heck yes! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is just what I needed. I did a huge purge of books that I knew I wouldn't read again and as a result discovered a treasure trove of books on the shelves that I haven't even read yet!
ReplyDeleteI should do that with the library, too! My TBR pile of books I own is shamefully tall. I need to work on that.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I've been meaning to do this myself, but when I see a book on sale I just can't seem to help myself! My TBR pile is just getting taller and taller.

Oh I'm tempted to click .... Cause I need more goals, right ?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun reading goal! I'm kind of actually doing that by accident. My hubby gave me a book for Christmas last year that I never read because he unwittingly gave me the THIRD in a series. So I went ahead and downloaded the first book so I could eventually get to the one DH gave me. So I bought a new book. But it was so that I could read an old book. Does that count? :P
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I sooo need to do this! Unfortunately most of my books are boxed up at the moment, but someday I'll make sure to get through all of them :)
ReplyDeleteHow are you going to do all this AND watch Real Housewives of BH?!?
ReplyDelete:)
Sigh... I think I'll join this challenge after all. I feel guilty about all the books waiting forever for me to finish reading.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I thought the damage from a Borders closing sale would be bad until I read about your Harvard bargain shopping. LOL Good luck with your challenge! Thanks for joining :)
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Books: A true story
sounds like a great plan!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me feel super-guilty about my deteriorating reading habits... it's BAD! You don't want to know...
ReplyDeleteBut I'll make a plan to get back to 'proper' reading in 2012...
what a greaaaat blog ,love your blog =) follow
ReplyDeleteI so need to do this. My problem is that I also need to take the Dusty Manuscript Challenge. I've definitely read more than I've written.
ReplyDeleteYes! I spent most of the holidays reading books I'd bought throughout the year and hadn't gotten around to. Great idea.
